A EMEF Edgard Carone foi criada no 2º semestre de 2001 como EMEF Anexo Jardim Britânia, para atender a demanda dos bairros próximos ao Jardim Britânia, principalmente os alunos da EJA ciclo II. A partir de janeiro de 2002, a Escola passou, de fato, a atender o Ensino Fundamental regular (Ciclo I e Ciclo II) e a EJA ciclo II (noturno).
